Recently, we have been seeing much more land like this. Especially here in Florida. The booming growth of land development projects suddenly coming to a stand still. This image was taken on my way to work. Within the five miles it takes to get to work, I pass probably 3 – 4 pastures of light posts and signs of life, but still remain empty and inhabited. I believe this image simply states the times we are now experiencing.

Shot a wedding recently this summer, it was low key, at someone’s beautiful home on one of the many lakes here in Winter Haven. The children of the residents are in Culinary school and had prepared many delicious Gourmet tasty trays of food. This display was my favorite though, they had fresh pineapple, strawberries, and marshmallows. Sad to say though, that the only chocolate dipped delights I got to enjoy was the ones I used for this photo. I had to get back to work, capture the evenings festivities.

Recently visited New York City and of course spent a day walking through the park. It was a great day, sunny and warm but not too hot. We managed to see many exciting events as we passed through. It turns out it was Japan Day in the Center of the Park, and on the Northern End we found a group of individuals doing a ritualistic dance. I will have to update this post with an image from the Japan Day, but here I have made a composite of three separate pictures from the same group. They were beating drums and burning some substance, allowing smoke to escape at certain moments. It was truly a great day when you can visit one park and experience many different cultures.

The beginning of 2009, I decided to make the investment of buying a newer and better film camera. Everyone always asks why there is still use in these old out of date cameras? To me, its the feeling of knowing that I have captured something, on film and having that hard copy to hold on to. Due to the inconvenience of shooting with film, it has taken me a while to get these scanned. I shot these with my new camera throughout downtown Atlanta. The whole weekend I was there, it was impossible to see the whole skyline as you can see. So we made the best of it, and when we had a good two hour slot when it wasn’t raining, we hiked throughout the city and captured the evening.

May seem quite odd to see a large Publix truck parked parallel to this white wall? This was in the beginning stages of the ‘Publix Commercial’ shoot taking place right across from the Studio. I am sure almost everyone has seen a Publix Ad, they do a great job. As I was leaving work yesterday the crew for the shoot kept growing, actors and actresses holding cash in their hands, Video crew with a large film camera on tracks. It will be interesting to see the new commercial turns out and how they used the huge “outdoor studio” across the street?

Found this old camera in the antique shop up the road from the studio. I had a friend in town who holds on to and uses old vintage cameras. There is something exciting about those little plastic cameras. We checked the shutter, works perfectly no flaws so far, and purchased the camera with a mission to shoot with it. I just happen to be carrying around some 120 BW film that I purchased prior. Loaded up the film, reels fed the film in to a sure fit. It was fun to go out there and literally paint with light.

The best job in the world they say! Six months of only working 12 hours each month earning a whopping 100,000 dollars. It sounds too good to be true but yet its valid. Sitting on the beach, snorkeling, swimming in the surf, fishing, boating and much more. I heard about this job through Polk counties one and only Ledger. Advertised as the best job in the world. If you check out the website (which will be listed below) one can see the competition, read about the job and then eventually apply for it. This is a photographers dream, only to leave from the experience with a portfolio like no other. Could be fun, just to apply, what do you have to loose? Besides “The Best” paying 6 months one could ask for!
